Botox® Cosmetic injections are the most popular cosmetic procedures in America today.  The reason is that they are both effective and safe.  Last year, Dr. Ingber personally injected over 20,000 units of Botox® Cosmetic.

Botox® Cosmetic works by blocking the muscles that cause our skin to wrinkle.  The effect usually takes place in 4-7 days and lasts up to 4months, although many people report 5-6 month successes.

Most people can rid themselves of even static wrinkles (wrinkles that are present without expression).  Although most lines of expression in the forehead, between the eyes (frown lines), and wrinkles on the outside of the eyes (crows feet) can be blocked, with an experienced injector patients can still show expression.

Side effects are rare and include tiny bruises at the injection site and a temporary headache.  There is virtually no pain during Botox® injections if done properly.   Patients can return to work within 15 minutes with no sign of having had injections.

At DermaCure, Dr. Ingber uses 4 different dermal fillers.  All are comprised of hyaluronic acid which is a natural complex sugar found in all living cells including human skin and cartilage.  Unlike collagen these products do not come from animal sources, and thus require no pre-testing and rarely cause allergic reactions.

When used to fill in the nasolabial folds (creases between the nostril and upper lip), wrinkles, fine lines and marionette lines (creases between the lower lip and chin) these fillers provide an instant youthful appearance.  It is possible to look 10 years younger in 10 minutes!  Fillers can also be placed in the lips for a fuller more luscious appearance.  

Juvéderm™ Ultra
This filler is a smooth injectable gel.  It is excellent for use in all facial applications.  There is a reported 73% retention of this product after 1 year.

Juvéderm™ Ultra Plus   
This is a thicker version of Juvederm Ultra.  It is better used in deeper creases and areas of lost facial volume such as the chin.  There has been a reported 83% retention of this product after 1 year.

Perlane®
Perlane® is a thicker version of Restylane® and thus fills deeper creases better and lasts longer.  Results are excellent in the nasolabial fold and chin area. 

All forms of injectable hyaluronic acid have proven to be extremely safe in Dr. Ingber’s hands.  He started injecting fillers in 1977 as part of the original studies with collagen injections.  Other than some injection site bruising we have seen no side effects with any of our dermal fillers.
